I bought a brand new cast iron skillet with a red porcelain coating on the outside at a thrift store. Well I did not pay enough attention to detail. When I got it home and unwrapped it I found out it has several chips on the exterior that show the cast iron. These chips are up near the top edge of the skillet but the interior is plain cast iron and is fine. I want to know if there is a way to smooth the edges of the chipped area so that it will not chip off too much more. Or I can take it back if I do it in the next few days. Advice please!
My wife and I are going to a Christian Rock Concert. We may wear leather pants and Christian biker shirts. Would this be appropriate?
We are seeing Toby Mac and Skillet. If not the Christian biker shirts we will wear a dark sweater
My favorite kind of music is Christian hard rock from bands such as Red, Pillar, P.O.D., Skillet, Disciple, Submersed, and some Kutless. I also like hard rock songs from Saliva, Breaking Benjamin, Disturbed and Shinedown, as long as the lyrics are clean. Does anyone have any suggestions of other songs like these, from other bands that have not already been mentioned, or some other hard rock band that has clean lyrics? And no inaudible screaming. Thanks...

We have been searching high and low for a new covered skillet to replace my old cheap skillet from Target that has warped over the years. I got a gift card as a belated wedding gift from my coworkers, so we went to Macys and looked at everything they had, and decided that this pan was the perfect size and shape for what we wanted: nonstick, rounded sides for omelets, deep enough to cook certain dishes (ok, hamburger helper) that didn’t quite fit in our old pan without sloshing out when stirring, wide enough to have good contact with the burner, but not TOO wide since I’m only really cooking for 2 people here, heavy enough to indicate good quality, but not too heavy for little me to lift it to hand wash in the sink, and it HAD to have a lid (what’s with all the open skillets? How un-versatile!). I liked everything about this pan…except for the color. Bronze? Seriously? We would have purchased it on the spot if only it came in black. I’m far from a perfectionist, but all my other cookware is a dark gray-ish charcoal color and I just can’t handle it if one piece is a TOTALLY different color. And we couldn’t afford to buy an entire new set of these, even with the very generous gift card. We saw an Anolon 12 inch ultimate pan in black and almost bought that instead, but after closer inspection the sides looked too rounded, meaning not enough contact with the burner on the bottom. It might as well be a wok (which we already have). So, I can’t comment on how evenly this pan cooks, or its durability or any of that since we didn’t actually buy it. Bummer.

I bought the skillet during 4th of July holiday. It was good in the first few days. After 2 weeks, the surface got some straches although I had been using wood spoon when stiring. It looks not as hard as the introduction says. I guess the surface cannot endure stiring too much and heat at the same time. I have to look for an alternative.
