Question and Answers
I'm going to a Skillet concert in Odessa Texas at Rock the Desert, it will be on Friday August 6th, I really need to know what TIME do they start their performance?!
One thing I learned the "hard way" since being a mom is to TURN OFF THE STOVE when the baby gets fussy while cooking dinner. :) Burnt dinners and a almost ruined skillet taught me that. Oops. On a more serious side, I also learned to learn and raise MY SON, not some authors or random "experts" idea of what babies are like. (That one was hard since I'm an insane perfectionist.) What are some "on the job training" you have received as being a mom?
I need some new music to listen to.
If anyone knows some really awesome bands or songs please let me know :)) (or if you love a song id be interested in knowing)
Some of my favorite bands are:
Three Days Grace
Hey Monday
Red
We The Kings
Shinedown
Skillet
Rise Against
Paramore
what literary devices are these sentences from the book 'The Glass Castle'?
1. "She had tied rags around her shoulders to keep our the spring chill and was picking through the trash while her dog, a black-and-white terrier mix, played at her feet." (might be imagery?)
2."Juju, our black mutt, was watching me."
3. "I stabbed one of the hot dogs with a fork and bent over and offered it to him."
4. "I smelled the burning and heard a horrible crackling as the fire singed my hair and eyelashes."
5. "She threw the blanket around me to smother the flames."
6. "They would put the used bandage off to the side, wadded and covered with smears of blood and yellow stuff and little pieces of burned skin."
7. "I breathed in his familiar smell of Vitalis, whiskey, and cigarette smoke. It reminded me of home."
8. "You've got to get right back in the saddle."
9. "She already fought with fire once and won."
10. "Suddenly, her eyes grew wide, as if with fear; I realized, to my horror, that her face was starting to melt."
11."Tinkerbells once perfect little nose had completely dissappeared, and her saucy red lips had been replaces with an ugly, lopsided smear."
12."Dad came home in the middle of the night a few months latert and roused all of us from bed."
13. "He took the essentials-a big black cast-iron skillet and the Dutch oven, some army-surplus tin pates, a few knives, his pistol, and Mom's archery set0 and packed them in the trunk of the Blue Goose."
14. "Dad steered the Blue Goose through the dark, driving slowly so as not to alert anyone in the trailer park that we were, as Dad liked to put it, doing the skedaddle."
15. "Tinkerbell can make it on her own."
16. "Don't be so sentimental"
17. "Dad called them henchmen, bloodsuckers, and the gestapo."

i don't know if all of these are specific literary devices or rhetorical terms, but if you could help me out, it'd be greatly appreciated!

Hi, well, I'm 11, and my mom asked what type of music would I like once, but, being the idiot person I am, I have decided to re-ask it from my newly created account, and add many more details. I love Paramore, Skillet, Flyleaf, Daughtry, Three Days Grace, Bring me the Horizon, Ke$ha, and I like a few songs by Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Owl City, Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez, and Miley Cyrus (but I hate most disney crap). I also like the song Caramelldansen by Caramell, Gummy bear song by Gummy bear, You're gonna go far kid by The Offspring, and Welcome to my life by Simple plan. So I like alternative, rock, pop/rock, punk rock, rock/metal, screamo, emo, pop, cutesy stuff, ect. I HATE rap and hip hop, and I'm not that crazy about country music, and I don't like some pop. I don't like hardcore rock. By the way, I like bands with hot scene guys in them *hinthint*. xD Well, suggest stuff, please. Thanksies, loves. <3
@Soul of woman: I don't like classic rock, sorry. But I listened to a few of Tokio Hotel's songs, and I kinda like them. :3
There's this band called "The Becoming", and I really like their music, they are a Christian Rock Band. I'm not looking for a list, just 2-3 bands that have a similar sound. Here's one of their songs if you've never heard of them:

By the way, I already listen to bands like Breaking Benjamin, Skillet, Red, TFK, etc.
